Uro-Vaxom

Indications

Immunotherapy: Uro-Vaxom is indicated for the prevention of recurrent lower urinary tract infections & also co-medication in the treatment of acute urinary tract infections.

Pharmacology

This is a medicine of biological origin that is used as a stimulant for the immune system to increase natural defenses. This can prevent recurrent urinary tract infection, particularly cystitis. It can also be used in combination with other possible treatments prescribed (Such as antibiotics) during the acute phase of urinary tract infections. Uro-Vaxom (Lyophilized Bacterial Lysate of Escherichia coli) is an orally administered immunostimulant used for the prevention of recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and also treatment of acute urinary tract infections (UTIs). It enhances both innate and adaptive immune responses, bolstering the body's defense against urinary pathogens. Upon oral administration, Uro-Vaxom activates innate immune cells (phagocytes and APCs) by stimulating pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) in Peyer’s patches (GALT). This initiates immune cell maturation, which then migrate to the urinary tract, providing localized protection. Innate and Adaptive Immunity Enhancement: Innate Immunity: Uro-Vaxom increases cytokine production, adhesion molecules, and enhances phagocytosis, contributing to a rapid defense. Adaptive Immunity: It stimulates polyclonal lymphocyte activation, leading to IgA and IgG production, which provides humoral protection in the urinary tract, preventing recurrent urinary tract infections(UTIs). By reinforcing immune defenses and preventing inflammation in the bladder, Uro-Vaxom reduces the recurrence of UTIs, offering a long-term, immunotherapeutic alternative to traditional antimicrobial treatments.
